According to Wikipedia online, a FOB point has nothing to do with a key FOB.

A FOB point is an international commercial LAW that evaluates and determines at what point between a shipment the risk in delivering the goods, the cost, and obligations shifts from the seller to the buyer or from the shipper to the receiver. FOB point (Free On Board) indicates the location where the liability of responsibility with the goods delivered gets transferred from the seller to the buyer or the from the shipper to the receiver. So once the delivery of goods are transferred from the seller to the buyer, the seller is no longer held responsible with the delivery and handling of the goods. The responsibly gets transferred to the buyer. This is the same with when a delivery of goods gets transferred from the shipper to the receiver. Once the receiver receives the delivery of goods from the shipper, the shipper is no longer responsible with the delivery and handling of the goods. The responsibility gets transferred to the receiver.

As for the definition of a KEY FOB (to anyone who is not familiar with what a key fob is and how it has nothing to do with an FOB point) a key fob is a small electronic device that is used to allow access to whatever it has been electronically activated to be connected to (for example front entrance doors to an apartment, a key fob is required for the door to electronically open)…from which you may meet a security guard in the lobby who may still question you and your identity.

Aside from that, an entirely different definition for FOB exists in slang language without the word “point” added to it or the word “key.” FOB in slang language very casually means “Fresh Off the Boat”. And that refers to a person or people who just entered foreign territory or surroundings they are not familiar with or do not know very much about. People used to immmigrate to other countries by boat before aeroplanes were invented and so that is where (FOB) as in “fresh off the boat” got its name.
