To ship merchandise from China to America when purchasing using FOB terms you will need to hire a freight forwarder and customs broker. FOB means free on board. The Alibaba seller will be responsible for delivery of the merchandise to your freight forwarder. The freight forwarder will then arrange for ocean or air freight, depending on your request. The customs broker you select will then handle the necessary paperwork to clear your merchandise through US customs. The freight forwarder will then make arrangements to deliver the merchandise to your destination. Many times the freight forwarding and customs brokerage functions can be handled by the same company.

Just for future reference, if you are a small business that only orders occasionally, or you are only ordering small quantities you may request the seller to quote you based on CIF payment terms. CIF= cost insurance freight. The seller will arrange for shipment to your destination. You will just be required to pay any customs duties owed.
