2. Find a good supplier from alibaba.
3. Get the quoatation .
4. Bargain on pricing.
5. Then if possible get the sample (you are lucky if you can get it free .
6. Then ok the order.
7. Make payment 30/70 or as per the term between supplier and buyer , you have to make the payment by LC (called letter of credit , or bank transfer , or alipay ) .
8. Get the goods at your port and pay official custom duty with cess and all.
9. And you are Importer man , cheers

Now when you go on selling the imported goods you bought from china , Don't be surprised that your landing price in India is the same price retailers is selling it of the same goods .Ohhh shit what went wrong , how its possible?? Yes its possible because you read a answer on quora and followed the so called experts here and messed the whole Import.

Now the second way the Real and Seasonal Importer way .

1. Took a first flight to china into Yiwu or shenzhen or Canton business circle.
2. See lots of product , and make a deal.
3. You can find Indian agent in China by dozons if you try to find one.
4. Give him suppliers address and come back in India .
5. Pay a amount here to the Agents representative in India Rs with all charges.
6. Get the goods

ohh you don't need the IEC code , nothing comes into account so no taxes and all.Undervalued Invoice or no Invoice at all and finally you can match your prices with market rate . because this is real and practical Import dear , everything else via alibaba is theory.
